Outreach Opportunities
Marys, Marthas, and Marks – A ministry that provides hospitality to the area priests. Twice a week people come to the parish office and prepare a meal for the priests to share

Transportation – Provide transportation to Mass and/or Special Events


Prayer Blanket Ministry – Provide a “covering of prayer” to those who have a need for healing, physical or emotional – sewing, crocheting, knitting, or home visit


Fair Trade Coffee – Sell coffee and other goods after Mass


Visit Shut-ins – Extend hospitality and friendship to those who are home bound.


St. Mary’s Central High School Carnival – Held the 1st weekend in February at SMCHS


Meals on Wheels – Cathedral Parish is assigned one month a year to deliver meals to shut-ins.


Dinner Club – Informal group of 8 -10 people have potluck dinners once a month.


The Banquet - A ministry providing a meal and hospitality for the Bismarck-Mandan Community. Please write your name by the date you are able to serve.


Other Opportunities

Pre-Marriage Weekend Couples – Work with other team members 3 weekends a year preparing couples for the Sacrament of Marriage. Training is provided.


Pre-Marriage Sponsor Couples – Work with couples in the preparation for the Sacrament of Marriage on a couple to couple basis using FOCCUS. Training is provided.


Video Camera/Big Screen TV – Operate and/or set up the video equipment for Mass.


Building Improvement Ministry - Volunteers help with various facility projects on an as needed basis. A skill in plumbing, electrical, welding, painting, and landscaping, elbow grease, etc. is a plus. Please specify your area of expertise.


Cathedral Reception Committee

Cathedral Reception Committee Monthly Chair/Co- Chair Coordinates the volunteers for funeral luncheons or other receptions one month a year.


Cathedral Reception Committee “Any Month” Volunteer – Available to assist with funeral luncheons or receptions any month.


Launder Tablecloths

Clean Sanctuary – Clean, vacuum, dust, general cleaning usually done on Friday or Saturday mornings. Teams are scheduled.


Care of Indoor Plants – Water and care for plants and flowers in the church.
