The Sacraments
Baptism
Baptisms at Cathedral generally take place on the 4th Sunday of the month, following the 11:30 AM. First-time parents or parents who will have a child baptized for the first time at Cathedral are required to participate in a baptismal preparation class prior to the birth of the child. This class is generally held on the 3rd Sunday of the month.  To register for the baptismal class or arrange a date for baptism, please contact the parish office (223-1033).

Eucharist
According to Diocesan policies, students in Grade 2 are in the preparation stage for the Sacrament of First Holy Communion, and this preparation happens through our Catholic school and through our Religious Education Program. Parent meetings are held throughout the year and the parent(s) are very involved in the preparation of their child(ren) for this sacrament. The catechist - through religious education classes, and the 2nd grade Cathedral School Teacher(s) - through regular classroom instruction, each give an in-depth presentation on all aspects of doctrine and faith for this age level. First Holy Communion is held shortly after Easter.
