Youth Ministry
At Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, we hold fast to the idea of comprehensive youth ministry, as set forth by the Department of Education of the United States Catholic Conference in Renewing the Vision: A Framework for Catholic Youth Ministry.

Renewing the Vision calls the entire community of our church to make ministry with adolescents of utmost concern and importance. As stated on the website of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB):

Renewing the Vision takes up the Holy Father’s challenge by focusing the Church’s ministry with adolescents on three essential goals: (1) empowering young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in our world today; (2) drawing young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the faith community; and (3) fostering the personal and spiritual growth of each young person. To accomplish these goals it will take a practical framework for utilizing the resources of the entire faith community and integrating ministry with adolescents and their families into the total life and mission of the Church.

At Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, we believe it takes our whole parish community - comprehensively - to ensure the success of a youth ministry program. To that end, our parishioners can become involved in youth ministry through prayerful support and through the giving of their time in service to our youth.

For our youth, both junior high and high school age, monthly gatherings are designed to offer opportunities for personal and spiritual growth as well as fellowship. The ministry provides opportunities for faith formation, extended trips, special liturgies, retreats, and opportunities for service projects throughout the year.
